Spilled Ink: Curt Rindal’s Full-Circle Journey from Baseball to Chiropractic Care

How a former Husky and minor leaguer found lasting purpose – and powerful healing – in the family business.

Sometimes there are people you meet who change your life in unexpected ways. When I first met Curt Rindal, former baseball player at Washington and owner of Rindal Sports Chiropractic, I was desperate for relief after years of dealing with ongoing lower back pain.

Spilled Ink is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

From Day 1, Curt provided the relief I was so desperately looking for, and we had plenty to talk about given his days playing for the Huskies and then working on current Washington athletes.

I talk to people all the time who have worked with Curt and they all rave about him. I have never met someone who is so present in the moment while working with a patient.

From the start of this podcast, I knew I would have Curt join for an episode and, as we transition into that time of year when MLB is the one game in town until football training camps open, I figured it was a great time to chat with Curt, since he’s currently working with the Mariners, in addition to helping clients in his private practice and the other athletes he works with.

In this episode, Curt shares how chiropractic care runs deep in his family – his dad, two brothers, uncle, and cousin are all in the profession – making it a natural part of his upbringing. Even so, he initially pursued a different path, earning a degree in economics from the University of Washington and considering a career in finance before realizing his passion for helping others through hands-on healing.

Baseball was Curt’s first love, and he chased it as far as the minor leagues. Along the way, injuries and recovery became part of his journey, deepening his appreciation for chiropractic work. His father often treated him during seasons filled with physical strain, and those moments planted the seed for his eventual career pivot.

Curt reflects on how the profession has evolved for him throughout his career. At first, it was all about addressing the pain, but over time, it became about understanding the whole person: physically, emotionally, and mentally. He describes the intuitive nature of his practice today, where experience, connection, and continuing education have sharpened his ability to “listen” to the body and deliver meaningful care.

From middle-child energy to lifelong learner, Curt’s story is one of full-circle purpose and a powerful reminder that our journeys are rarely linear – but always meaningful.
