Minutes Restriction: It's Gonna Be 'May'
As we turn the page to a new month, here's a look back at April.
Definitely-On-My-Couch, Wash. – Maybe it’s just that I’ve spent too many years working on social media accounts, but the transition from April to May just isn’t complete without a Justin Timberlake meme.
Also, where did April go? And how is it already playoff season for spring sports? This happens every year. Between early season rain and the volume of sports, it’s overwhelming to cover spring sports.
With that said, April was a fun month that featured some fun content opportunities, including launching this weekly column. Here’s a quick look back at a few of my favorite April interviews.
In one of my favorite podcast interviews so far, I was able to nerd out on photography with Seattle Times photographer Dean Rutz.
Spilled Ink: A Sideline Chat with Dean Rutz
If you want to know how kind Seattle Times photographer Dean Rutz is, consider this: he once nearly missed a crucial shot during a University of Washington football game just to help me with a technical question about my camera.Spilled Ink is a reader-supported publication. I caught up with Washington football legend Lawyer Milloy.
From the Gridiron to the Diamond: Lawyer Milloy’s Next Chapter as a #GirlDad Coach
REDMOND, Wash. – It was another symbol of spring in the Pacific Northwest: a softball team trying to squeeze in photo day during a very brief break from the rain.
And, I got to meet an Issaquah softball player who is excelling on and off the field.
Behind the Mask, Front and Center: Sadie Huryn Shines for Issaquah Softball
ISSAQUAH, Wash. – When it comes to the solitude of working in the shadows, being a catcher offers a unique opportunity to operate in an anonymity not typically afforded to softball players.Spilled Ink is a reader-supported publication. Oh, and I was able to, for the first time in my career, spend some time photographing and writing about lacrosse.
May is setting up to be even better. I’m heading to T-Mobile Park on Friday to watch Eastside Catholic play Kentwood. I caught up with former Rainier Beach and current Cleveland AD Dan Jurdy, and can’t wait to share that interview.
Be on the lookout for a few cool podcast guests, postseason coverage and more.
